Launching My First Game - ChemLab
Hi everyone,
I'm excited to announce the release of my first game! It's a small puzzle game where you need to assemble a molecule from its atoms, but the atoms slide until they hit a wall or another atom. It might seem simple, but it's definitely not easy. It took me about two months of full-time work to get this far.
The first piece of advice I received when starting my game development journey was: "Just finish a game, no matter how small it is." Unfortunately, being a perfectionist like myself, it was quite hard to decide when the game is good enough to release to the world.
The game was made with the Godot 4 game engine. This game engine appealed to me from the start since it's lightweight, free and open-source, and has a great community of people using it. Although Unity and Unreal engines are much more feature-packed, they are also much more complex to use.
I hope you download, play, and enjoy my game as much as I enjoyed developing it. If you have any feedback, whether positive or negative, please leave a comment on my game page.
Thanks!
